The Kapiti Food Fair is fast becoming an annual food & beverage event well know to vendors and visitors. We had 9,288 visitors in 2016.

We are under no illusion that the Fair is growing momentum and we want to continue exposing Kapiti as an ideal event location and to showcase local and NZ manufactured food & beverage, related F&B products and the united nations of ready to eat food to enjoy on the day. The event is accompanied by a Celebrity Chef and an entertainment programme featuring local performers.

This Fair is a commercial event, however, we have a social agenda too. The Fair owners work hard to achieve a profit which is then donated to the Kapiti Rotary Charitable Trust for distribution to agreed local charities. In 2015 and 2016 Kapiti Rotary supported the Fair - their involvement will continue in 2017.

The Celebrity Chef for 2017 is Jax Hamilton. Jax needs little introduction with her much-loved style and flair. Since appearing on our screens and winning the hearts of the nation during MasterChef Series 2 in 2011, Jax has set herself a hectic pace with guest appearances at numerous events, appearing regularly on Good Morning, radio spots and TV where she features on the Countdown supermarket adverts and in-store promotions.

The positioning of the Fair continues to align itself to run the day before the popular Thorndon Fair in Wellington. There are many vendors that are influenced to attend particularly if they are from out of the region and they are registered to be at the Thorndon Fair the following day.

In 2016 we successfully partnered with Tuatara Brewing to set-up a bar undercover of a Stretch Tent serving beers, wines and cocktails from vendors at the Fair. We intend replicating the Bar for 2017.

In 2016, the Fair designed and produced a jute shopping bag to promote the Fair and sell to visitors at gate entry. This initiative will continue in 2017.

The Fair is a pre-Christmas event providing a commercial opportunity for vendors to package their products for visitors to sample, buy gifts or to simply stock up their pantry at home. Previous Fairs have attracted vendors selling a variety of artisan and commercial food and beverages including chocolate, sweets, jam and condiments, sauces and dressings, dips and pesto, preserves, breads, baking, wines, beer, liqueurs, fruit juices, olive oils, ice cream, coffee, meat, honey, fruit and vegetables and a variety of ethnic foods. 2017 will be no exception to this.

Single site 3m x 3m $99 or Double site 6m x 3m $169 - fee includes one standard rubbish bag for removal by the Fair at the conclusion by Waste Management.
