Create your own lantern for the dazzling Festival of Cultures Lantern Festival on Friday 3 March.

The creative team from REACT - Rangiwahia Environmental Arts Centre Trust are once again leading public workshops on creating individual lanterns. These are a free activity anyone of any age can enjoy.

We've got a range of dates and hours which should suit everyone. We supply the materials and instructions and you can enjoy making your own lantern to bring to the parade.

The workshops are being held in the former Public Trust Office on the ground floor of the Central Library - facing the Events Quadrant of The Square.

Lantern Festivals are all about celebrating and cultivating positive relationships between people, families, nature and the higher beings that were believed to be responsible for bringing or returning the light each year.
