1960 in the farming heartland of central New Zealand; late summer bakes the hills brown and dirt roads cut through long-standing farms to old homesteads. Among vast tracks of inherited wealth, conservatism and honour meet undercurrents of retribution and ambition. This is a place held together by allegiances, fractured by isolation and hidden desires. It is here that two young men, a Maori city boy and a prestigious farmer’s son run against the tide. Amidst the secrets and mistrust is a bond too deep to sever. Forbidden love, revenge and a family torn apart.

Join the film’s Director & Composer - Alastair Riddell, Writer, Producer & Lead Female Actor - Vanessa Riddell, Cinematographer Dean Carruthers and Lead Actor Kieran Foster for a talk after the film.
