Lucy Hammonds – When Dreams Turn To Gold

We are celebrating achievements of women throughout the month of March in conjunction with the Zonta Ashburton Female Art Award (ZAFFA). This is the first lecture in a two part lecture series based around empowering women. This lecture is by Lucy Hammonds, Curator at Dunedin Public Art Gallery on the history of the Benson and Hedge Fashion Awards- one of the most anticipated events on the national fashion calendar.

Lucy Hammonds has wide-ranging curatorial interests that extend across contemporary and historic art, craft, decorative arts and design. She writes regularly on New Zealand art and design, and her recent publications and essays include The Dress Circle – New Zealand Fashion Design Since 1940 (2010), Architecture of the Heart (2013), Jeffrey Harris: Renaissance Days (2015), Kate Davis On Sensitive Ground (2016) and Kirstin Carlin Through the trees (2016).

All are welcome to attend this free lecture.
