There are many benefits to developing mindfulness through meditation, including more focus, pleasant physical states, and a calmer basis for emotions. Applied correctly, mindfulness is practised as a basis for developing positive states of mind like loving kindness and compassion.

In this weekend course, learn different ways of practising mindfulness both on the cushion and in daily life. The sessions will be instruction, discussion, and brief meditations specifically for beginners.

Meals and breaks will be spent in silent practice – a chance to turn inward and be in the moment. Beginning level course led by Sarah Brooks.

Course begins 6pm on Friday with dinner followed by an evening session and ends at 2:30pm Sunday. Pre-registration essential by 12 August.

What past participants said about this course:
“I found it very interesting to gain insight into meditation, mindfulness, and Buddhism. It made me realise that meditation is not easy and it takes a lot of practice but you can achieve so much through it. Even if not everyone will be able to keep practising, it is good to know about it and start to become mindful in everyday life. I could describe the content of the course as inspirational, beautiful, peaceful and powerful.”

“A very informative course providing practical ways to use mindfulness in everyday life. (Ideal for curious beginners like me!)”

Interested in a weekend of full silence practising mindfulness? Try our Mindfulness Weekend Retreat 8-10 September. There will be much less instruction – the time will be focused on meditation to look inward and practicing mindfulness on the cushion, walking, eating, and in everything you do.
