We have pledged to plant 1000 trees in 2017 at Manawa Karioi Ecological Restoration Project in the hills of Island Bay.

Wellington City Council are delivering 500 native trees to us in the last week of April, Forest and Bird are giving us 250 native trees also and we have around 300 trees in the TawaTawa Reserve Nursery.

Help us get some new trees in the ground by attending our May Month of Plantings (every Sunday 1pm - 3pm). It is a chance to get involved in a local environmental community project and meet some new people.

We have had great results from our summer working bees doing track maintenance. All our tracks are now in great shape, with trackside vegetation growth cut back to allow easy walking.

The area, we are working on is the furthermost point of Manawa Karioi from our usual meeting point, we will be departing 1pm sharp from the end of Quebec Street in Kingston. There is plenty of car parking there, and it is a mere 100m walk to the working area.

The working bee will go ahead regardless of weather as it is fairly sheltered, please bring appropriate clothing and footwear.

Gloves and all tools will be provided.
