Napier Repertory Players’ mid-year production is a comedy/drama about modern relationships called “Whatever”, written by Terry Coyle and directed by Cefyn Gauden.

Terry was scheduled to direct this play but sadly passed away last year. Terry’s good friend Cefyn, has kindly agreed to direct the play in his memory.

Set in a tasteful contemporary home in Ponsonby, the play looks at the life of a soon to be divorced professional couple Emma (played by Stacey Nelson) and Robert (played by Glenn Cook).

The action takes place during the course of a Saturday morning and the task of dividing up the contents of the family home. The already difficult situation is compounded when “the mother-in-law from hell”, Meg (played by Jill Foster) and her long-suffering husband Bruce (played by David Brock), visit to lend a hand.

With lots of surprising twists and turns in this fast-moving play, we also have the arrival of the house stylist Claire (played by Sarah Findlay) who adds to the intrigue of this very personal story.

Terry was a long-time actor, director and set designer for Napier Repertory Players, who are honoured and privileged to bring Terry’s play to the Little Theatre. Opening Night will celebrate Terry’s contribution to Napier Repertory and Waipukarau Little Theatre.

The performance season runs from 21st June to 1st July and tickets may be purchased from the Municipal Theatre, Tennyson Street, Napier.
