For the first time in their 12-year history, the Wellington Community Choir are hosting a special NZ Music concert that includes some new music and well-known popular songs. The first part of the concert presents the new work “We’re Gonna Get Along” composed by Julian Raphael for the Active Youth Group as the 2016 SOUNZ Community Commission.

At the top of the bill are a sequence of 6 songs originally by kiwi bands Crowded House, the Mockers and The Mutton Birds. These songs have been specially arranged for this concert by Raphael in a way that features the choir as both lead and backing vocals. Accompanying these songs will be a stage band comprising the talents of local musicians Nick Granville, John Rae, Pat Bleakley and David Dell. As usual, there will be opportunities for the audience to join their voices with the choir.
