Calling all poets and poetry lovers! In the three-day conference, listen to 40+ of NZ's most compelling and popular poets from Auckland and around Aotearoa including some of our Poets laureate.

Enjoy open discussions, workshops, readings, panels, features, open mic and more, in Auckland's freshest community hub the recently restored historic Ellen Melville Centre, Freyberg Place, Auckland. Experience poetry from all angles. Up-skill; be inspired; network with many of NZ's leading poets and read your work in open mic sessions.

NZ Poetry Conference:

NZ Poetry Festival:
When the day's korerorero ends, there are festival events through the evenings curated by some of Auckland's best-known poetry activists. Many are at the Ellen Melville Centre (EMC); some on the City Fringe.

Friday 10 Nov:
Dirty Wordz at the Dog's Bollix Newton; "Surrender" book launch from Janet Charman (courtesy OUP), SAPC Spoken Word with the South Auckland Poets' Collective at EMC and more.

Saturday 11 Nov:
"Zines Out Loud" with Raewyn Alexander (EMC); a highlight of the Festival - "Shaky Places" Song Cycle Concert with the Auckland Youth Choir at St Matthew-In-The-City; Cinepoetics & Poetry Live! (EMC) and more.

Sunday 12 Nov:
"Poetical Bridges" Book launch (EMC); NZ Poetry Society Anthology launch "After the Cyclone"
(Central Library); "As the Whirlwind Swoops", new works from queer writers (One2one Café Ponsonby); The Literatti presents One Night in Shanghai Festival Finale Concert at Shanghai Lil's, Karangahape Rd.
