The Paekakariki School Fair is back! Fun, food and entertainment as well as our autumn garden sale, books, clothes, toys, vintage wares, craft stalls, silent auction, raffles and even Wellington SPCA Kittens for adoption! Music from Matiu Te Huke, The Crimson Club, The Ship show Band, Ben Fulton, Phaedon, Cecil Rd Trio and Francis Mills.

“We want to get back to the spirit of good old-fashioned fun this year at Paekakariki school with pony rides and games," says organiser Alexandra Saunders. “Paekakariki school has always been renown for the fantastic music and food and this year is no exception.”

There will be hangi you can pre-order through the school, gourmet sausages, bacon butties, home baking, chop suey, veggie wraps and a goat curry with fried bread as well as a classic Tea Room and candy floss and jelly for the kids.

Little ones will love the Playcentre run Junior Zone while big kids can enjoy a haunted house, jousting arena, bouncy castles, shooting range, gumboot toss and more! Live entertainment will be provided by incredible musicians who play internationally so we are very lucky to have them living in Paekakariki.

This is the first year Paekakariki school has run the fair as zero waste and our aim this year is to reduce the amount of rubbish that goes to the landfill by recycling and using compostable plates and food-serve ware which will go into our worm farms in the school garden.

The Garden Group will also be holding their Autumn plant sale if you are after some perennials, trees or plants for autumn planting. Paekakariki 88.2FM will be broadcasting live from the event and you can listen online at www.paekakariki.org.nz
