Particulates and polluters - Air quality issues in the Hutt Valley
Dr Perry Davy

Harmful air particulates are a leading cause of respiratory disease, and in the Hutt Valley, incidences of poor air quality are evident in some suburbs like Wainuiomata due to high wood burner use in winter.

Improved council initiatives are decreasing the incidence of particulate exceedances. But what about people who persist in burning treated timber causing harmful toxins in the air? What about other worrying sources of air particulates around the Hutt Valley?

Come along and ask questions to initiate an informed dialogue on the issues that will affect our region by 2100.
