Pattern making classes resume for a 5 weeks sessions. Beginners are welcome to start a pattern making year.
Pattern making according to the Lavigne method, taught in Europe and Paris. These two-hour workshops will cover the basics of pattern making. The Saturday 1pm class is for beginners and advanced: we will approach the basic styling of the garment.
I will supply a block on your measurements so the pattern you make will fit you. The classes are sequential but I will work with you individually at each session. For quick progress, regular attendance is always best.
When your pattern is finished we will make a toile (a calico sample of your pattern). You can make it at home or use the sewing machines and overlockers available during the class.
Sewing knowledge is not a prerequisite but would help you in drafting the pattern. I can give guidance for the sewing to those who struggle making their garments at home. Sewing will be infused and taught gradually, according to the needs including the use of interfacing and different finishing techniques.
This class is ideal to introduce fashion students to the pattern making/sewing world or to anyone who wants to learn how to make clothes that fit.
Pattern Making is a rare skill. Get in touch with me if you are interested.
