Come have a brew or two, some $6 tacos and sit back and enjoy a reading of a New Zealand play performed by local talent. Too easy.
Play On is a play reading series in a relaxed environment - our actors have scripts in hand, nothing's rehearsed, anything goes.
There is no cost to attend the event, a koha donation is optional. Seating is limited so it’s best to get there early to get a good spot (and to make the most of happy hour from 5pm – 7pm!).
Running time approx. 60 minutes (note: some language and content may offend).
Presented by Big Picture Minor Deets by arrangement with Playmarket. A Love Like Ours received development assistance from Playmarket.
About the play:
Madeline is dead but at her funeral, all sorts of secrets come unravelled as her lovers and beloved father to send her off. A comedy that suggests that love, like a book, should never just be judged by its cover.
About the playwright:
Joseph Musaphia was born in London in 1935. His family emigrated to Melbourne in 1938 and in 1946 they moved to Christchurch. In 1979 he was awarded Victoria University of Wellington's first Writer's Fellowship.
