One of the most knowledgeable physicians in the US is in Wellington for one night to speak candidly about his experiences prescribing cannabis in America.

Dr Bearman - has spent 40 years working in substance and drug abuse treatment and prevention programs. He was a pioneer in the free and community clinic movement. He has written extensively on drug policy improvement and is seeing first-hand the impact prescribing rights are having.

At this event, he will touch on subjects like; what have been some of the failings in the way the US has legalised cannabis? Has legalisation led to substance abuse in the US? What are the harms and benefits of legalisation?

There will be time for questions. The tone of the event is less lecture, more conversation. Drinks and nibbles provided.

Please know that the proceeds from this event will go to covering the personal costs Victoria has worn in bringing Dr Bearman over. Any additional funds will go towards the production of a documentary for medical practitioners -

Medical Cannabis has been in the media a lot lately.
