Learn basic kayaking and canoeing skills at the Taylor River. Mathias Jespersen & Will Parsons of Driftwood Eco Tours will show you all they know about paddling techniques. Like easy ways to get in and out of your kayak or canoe, strokes that will keep you energized on the water and simple water safety skills. It is also a great way to get to know your waterway in a craft not unlike the waka once used by Maori. See urban wildlife on your doorstep like little shag, inunga, and trout.

Please call or text 021 62 0030 or email - info@driftwoodecotours.co.nz to book and for more information.

The event will not proceed if the weather is unsuitable for kayaking. Look for the Driftwood Eco Tours flag and van across the river from the Taylor River Amphitheater. We launch were the River Queen use to berth.

Children under eight need to be accompanied by an adult. The child to adult ratio is one adult to two children under eight. Children and young adults under 16 must have a parent or guardian sign a health and safety risk release form before the tour. You can get the link to the online form at the email address above or on our Facebook page - @DriftwoodEcoTours
