Join us for this annual commemorative service held in conjunction with The New Zealand Bomber
Command Association to honour the pilots who served their country and remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Approximately 6,000 New Zealand men served in the Royal Air Force Bomber Command during the Second World War. Nearly 2,000 lost their lives, the highest proportion of any country in the Commonwealth.

The soldiers of the RAF Bomber Command are honoured in a permanent bronze memorial designed by Sir Richard Taylor of Weta Workshop, housed in the WWII Hall of Memories. The memorial is dedicated to those New Zealanders who lost their lives in service over Europe. Hear Sir Richard speak about the memorial in this video made for the re-dedication of the memorial last year, here.
