Unearth more on the Chinese book and its evolution at this illustrated talk by Duncan M. Campbell. Focusing on the story of a library in Changshu during the closing years of the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644), discover how private libraries were once a pronounced feature of the landscapes of imperial China before being replaced by public libraries.

Afterwards, join Duncan and James Beattie, garden historian, on a Garden tour at the Dunedin Chinese Garden to discuss Chinese gardens, practice, writing and culture.
