The screening of the 80's classic 'The Goonies' will be the final screening of the 2017 Rhythm and Reels series taking place at Avalon Park on Saturday 4 March. Rodger Fox Band will be providing the pre-movie entertainment and we have added a fireworks display during the intermission to finish the series with a bang.

Rodger Fox Band is Wellington's premier big band. Founded by New Zealand jazz-big band legend Rodger Fox, this band covers all bases and features the cream of the capital city's jazz talent. Sizzling ensemble playing, stunning soloists and the desire to give people a good time through music - this is the Rodger Fox Big Band

The Goonies is an adventure comedy about a band of young boys who find a treasure map and embark on a magical adventure.

Bring the family, a rug and some warm clothes down to the park and enjoy the final event of the Rhythm and Reels series. Better yet, bring the kids down early to blow off some steam at the recently revamped Avalon Park playground before the entertainment begins.
