Risingholme Orchestra, with conductor and music director Dr Philip Norman, present a grand Jubilee concert to celebrate 25 years of making 'Music for Pleasure'. It will include a work by Philip that we commissioned for this occasion.

For his composition ‘Echoes of an Exhibition’, Philip took inspiration from a series of paintings by Canterbury artist Philip Trusttum. These paintings were inspired by a performance by local organist Martin Setchell of Mussorgsky’s ‘Pictures at an Exhibition’.

The latter was in turn inspired by paintings of Russian artist and architect Victor Hartmann. We will also play Wagner's Prelude to Die Meistersinger, Artie Shaw's Jazz Clarinet Concerto with soloist Mark Walton, Bruch's Kol Nidrei with soloist Rebecca Bendre, Vivaldi's Double Violin Concerto Op 3 No 8 with soloists Amandine Guerin & Milana Kornienko, and other short popular classical favourites.
