Royal Families and Royal Dynasties Theme for Queen's Birthday Weekend.

Upper Hutt's multi-award winning Golder Cottage is continuing its theme of Upper Hutt history through its street names with a Display outlining the story behind the city's "Royal" names to mark this Queen's Birthday Weekend, June 3,4 and 5.

There are the obvious city streets that share the naming theme of the Royal family - including Alexandra, Elizabeth, King, Princes, Queen, Royal, Victoria and York. But who connected the naming of the streets of Kingsley Heights with Royalty?

This subdivision actually used the dynasties of the British Royalty in its street naming theme. You can learn all about the people behind the names of Aragon Grove, Beaufort Close, Boleyn Close, Burghley Way, Edgar Grove, King Charles Drive, Plantagenet Grove, Seymour Grove, Wales Close and Windsor Close in this special display researched and presented by local historian, genealogist and researcher Lynly Yates.

A small admission applies.

Golder Cottage is open every Saturday and public holidays: 1.30pm - 4pm (except Xmas Day and Good Friday). Groups by arrangement.
