Help 'Protect Karangahake' save their beautiful mountain from the destructive power of the gold mining company.
The Karangahake Gorge is listed as one of the top 14 tourist attractions by Tourism New Zealand for good reason; the area boasts a multitude of walking tracks, swimming holes, running and riding trails and rock climbing formations against the beautiful backdrop of Karangahake Mountain.
Don’t let this priceless conservation land be ruined for other people’s gold.
Help stop the mining!
A fundraiser brought to you by Green Gigs, featuring fantastic entertainment:
"Dylan Wade Band"
Roots, Funk, Folk, Reggae, Rock
Dylan Wade Band plays conscious uptempo uplifting dance-able grooves to party with...
featuring songs from the new album (soon to be released).
Including "Freedom", "The Wheel" and "Coromandel Gold"- a reworked version of the 1979 Tribrations protest song.
"The Utter Bastards"
The Utter Bastards is an original acoustic trio born from a fever dream of combining country and reggae music with the awesome power of the ukulele. The Bastards feature three part harmonies, wry humour, strong rhythms and the sly social commentary of Waikino songwriter DB Grant.
"Him"
Musical epiphany Him is a mad-shaped curation by Australian born artist Jazmine Rose; she draws upon elements of the visionary to create a stunning, experimental work that shifts and unravels mid-performance in a visceral and often haunting way. Rose uses electrical meanderings, looping, guitar, voice and other instruments to draw a scene most poignant, inviting her audience to travel through scapes mysterious, bold and watery. Her songs are moody, often haunting and spacious; allowing the listener time to explore the woods.
