Pukaha is joining other conservation sites all over New Zealand to celebrate Seaweek 2017.

From February 25th to March 5th there will be a range of activities to raise awareness and celebrate all things about the sea!

February 25th at 2pm join Pukaha’s Conservation Manager, Todd Jenkinson at Aratoi in Masterton to hear about our involvement in national recovery programmes for our unique NZ wildlife, including the New Zealand shore plover, one of New Zealand’s rarest coastal birds.

March 5th from 12pm-1pm join a Pukaha Ranger at the eel bridge to have a close encounter with the New Zealand long-finned eel. Included with entry.

March 5th at 11:15pm, 12:45pm, 1:15pm meet a Pukaha Ranger at the visitor centre and take a guided walk to visit our off display shore plover. Included with entry.

This is a one-off opportunity to see one of New Zealand’s rarest coastal birds and hear about how we are trying to save them.
