Suitable for ages 13-17.
Papamoa - 21st April 10 am-12 noon – limited to 20 participants.
Greerton - 26th April 10 am -12 noon – limited to 15 participants.

Come along and learn photography techniques from photographer Cynthia Qiu in this 2- hour photography workshop.

Cynthia will show you how to get the best out of your smartphone camera looking at photography essentials such as composition, lighting, posing and more. During the session, you will also learn more technical photographic essentials such as shutter speed, ISO, exposure and how your eye sees an image.

From there you will head out to take photos and put theory into practice. In the week following the workshop, we invite participants to use what they have learnt in the session to take a photo to enter into our Street Art Photography competition, which will be run exclusively for the workshop participants.

Cynthia trained at the Southern Institute of Technology teaches photography classes in the bay area, and is renowned for her stunning astrophotography. Participants must provide their own smartphone. Troubleshooting of specific model smartphones will not be covered.

Bookings are essential. Email - library@tauranga.govt.nz or call 577 7177.
