Paekakariki Station Museum and Petticoat Junction are pleased to announce that Sunday 14th May sees the Paekakariki launch of David McGill's new book - "The Plot to Kill Peter Fraser" along with Michael O'Leary launching his latest book "Collected Poems 1981 - 2016".

"The Plot to Kill Peter Fraser" is set in Wellington in 1945. Although the work is fiction it is based on real life events and the intrigue surrounding former a prime minister. Peter Fraser was our greatest prime minister on the international stage. He proved it as World War Two was ending and he played a major part in shaping the United Nations.

In the process he made enemies. He is back in New Zealand, where a plot is under way to kill him. If it is successful, New Zealand’s influence on the international stage ends and the country descends into chaos, a divided country ripe for international manipulation.

"Collected Poems 1981 - 2016" is a thirty-five year retrospective from an important Irish-Maori influenced writer. It offers a complete view so far of O'Leary's remarkable literary achievement and offers a body of original and significant work that continues to grow stature and regard in Aotearoa New Zealand and world literature.

Both writers are from Paekakariki... come along and support locals. A great opportunity to meet and chat with the authors over a cuppa.

While in the Museum check out the display "Writers & Poets of Paekakariki".
Catch the train - It stops right at our door.
