Still Waving: Climate Change Theatre Action Aotearoa is part of a worldwide series of readings and performances of short climate change plays presented biennially in support of the United Nations Conference of the Parties.

It won't be preachy: it will be fun and thought-provoking. It's a way to laugh (yes some of the plays are comedies!) and refresh your inspiration to save the planet at the same time. You will see fantastic new short and powerful theatrical works by Native American, American, Samoan, Canadian, New Zealand, and other writers, all carefully selected by the CCTA global organisers (Center for Sustainable Practice in the Arts, NoPassport Theatre Alliance, The Arctic Cycle and Theatre Without Borders) and performed and directed by local Wellington theatrical talent. More than 200 host organisations participate worldwide in CCTA, including Massey University Wellington in both 2015 and 2017. It's a great global movement to be part of!

The CCTA Aotearoa 2017 event on October 23, at Massey University Wellington campus, is a cross-disciplinary creative activism showcase, featuring theatre works by international and national writers (produced in collaboration with invited theatre directors from the New Zealand theatre community), readings from the winners of our creative climate action writing competition, a provocative new public outdoor performance art work, and an inspiring speaker from our community partner, Generation Zero (a youth-run climate action NGO).

All proceeds from event ticket sales go to Generation Zero to help support their crucial work towards a zero carbon economy in New Zealand.

The Theatre Lab is Room 5D14, in Block 5, Massey Wellington campus. Come and join us - laugh, be moved, and find out about real practical steps you can take to make a difference.
