The Summer Solstice is a time of year of brightness and warmth and of honouring the light and the Earth’s life giving relationship with the sun. It is a time to celebrate the vital power of the immense burning star that keeps our planet bright, warm and alive.
We, like the sun, contain the power to nurture and sustain. We have a responsibility to ourselves to burn as brightly as we can.
By entering into activities that teach respect for and connection with the great powers of the sun and the nourishing earth, we align ourselves with these powers in a very deep way.

Cacao Ceremony: An Indigenous Mayan prophecy tells that when the Earth and its people are out of balance, the cacao will come out from the rainforest to open people’s hearts and return the planet to a state of harmony. We are now living in those times. Cacao deepens our connection to our heart, and expands our capacity to love and be loved.

In a world where we’re realising that everything is love, that’s a pretty potent medicine. And everyone deserves a taste. The more that people connect to self-love and awareness of themselves and their behaviours, the more that they can make loving and conscious choices for the greater good of all.  When used in a ceremonial and intentional way, cacao allows you to access the subconscious and enter into a place of deep reflection and self-communion, to reveal the deepest aspects and fullest expression of who you truly are.

Ecstatic Awakening Dance: Ecstatic awakening dance is a free flowing practice that incorporates movement, meditation and powerful breathing techniques that will take you deep into your inner self to observe and bring to presence to the energies (thoughts, feelings, sensations) that arise within you. There are no steps to follow, there is no right or wrong way to move.

It is done with the eyes closed, so you can let go of any self-conscious feelings such as embarrassment or judgment about getting it right or looking good, you just move to the music and truly dance as if no one was watching. Ecstatic Awakening Dance has its roots in the techniques of Osho and was developed by Amoda who wrote “Dance your Prayers – A Guide to the experience of Ecstatic Trance Dance”.

Gong Bath: The gong is an ancient and sacred instrument of healing, rejuvenation and transformation. It is the oldest synthesiser in the world, synthesising everything into functional harmony. Where there is harmony and holistic resonance, transformation on physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels occurs. The gong works deeply on the mental, emotional levels and spiritual levels.

On a physical level the vibrational frequencies emitted from the gong releases tension, stimulates the relaxation response, physiological functioning and increases prana, chi, mauri, our vital life force.  By cutting through the linear mind and clearing clutter from the subconscious mind it has the capacity to bring us to our neutral quietened mind state and into a state of equanimity, deep peace, a state of stillness that is wise and non-judgemental.

No water is involved in a Gong bath, you remain fully clothed and are simply bathing in the sound and frequencies produced. Other instruments involved are Tibetan singing bowls, Tibetan cymbals, Koshi chimes, Freenote and Shamanic drum.

This is a powerful transformative and meditative process that allows our true radiant nature to shine through. Whatever awakens is accepted with an open heart.

Bring a mat or something to lie on and a blanket for the gong bath.
