The ability to research and write academic assignments is crucial for success at post-graduate level.

This course is both for students who have not studied at a New Zealand university before and those who need to update their skills. Researching and writing academically is the basis for most post-graduate assessments.

Over six weeks you will learn how to use the available online journal databases, record your findings according to standard citation conventions and present your argument using the empirical research you have identified from your online database search. Students will be given practical exercises and feedback on their work.

Target audience:
Although open to anyone, this course will particularly benefit domestic and international students in post-experience taught masters’ programmes, and honours and PhD students who have never received instruction on academic writing.
