Part of Kauaeranga Valley 6 Weeks of Summer:
Two of New Zealand’s unique (and threated) species are rarely seen – the short-tailed bat and dactylanthus - our only native fully parasitic flowering plant. This talk will highlight their biology, beauty and unique relationship with each other, their role in the forest ecosystem and what we can do to protect them.

Avi began his studies on dactylanthus in the 1990s and hasn't stopped since. He's now working as the operations manager for DOC’s Hauraki District.
