Tutor: Emily Armstrong (MA&D, BMA)

Artists can do magic… or so it seems. Some people have a natural ability to see something - really see it - and draw what they see near perfectly. In this class, we get to delve into those seemingly magical skills and learn how to look at a subject and draw it. We will cover everything you need to get practising on your own, from the basics of what pencil to use, when to use it, how to use it, and how to uncover your own natural style. We experiment with pencil, charcoal, pastel and ink. Basic materials provided for use in class.

The Drawing Club
2nd and 4th Thursdays beginning 11th May, 5:30 and 8pm drop-in, $5 koha on the door appreciated
Tutor: Emily Armstrong (MA&D, BMA)

Every second Thursday, The Pencil Room is open between 5:30 and 8pm for anyone interested in practising and improving their drawing skills or just dabbling in the art room. The Drawing Club sessions are self-directed (not a taught class) and therefore suitable for people with some basic drawing experience who want to improve through practice.

Bring your own drawing or painting materials (basic materials are available for purchase). Expect a range of interesting still life subject matter and scheduled life drawing sessions. Please register your interest for regular updates!
