Learn how to get your food garden humming and the crops pouring in! (And there's nothing arduous or complicated about it.) Everything you need to grow an abundant veggie patch.

Morning tea and lunch provided.

You’ll learn:

Soil Health: What good soil looks like, my easy peasy compost recipe, making and using liquid feed; how to grow and use green crops; simple ways to recycle food scraps; aerating your soils (and why it is so important); how to turn over and prepare garden beds

Crop Rotation: Rotating your crops prevents pest and disease and keeps your soils balanced. It’s important no matter how small your plot is, and is not as hard as you think.

Design: Good harvests begin with good design. Choose the best site for your veggie patch; cunning ways to manage weeds; integrated pest management (natures way); shelter and the best beginning for your veggie beds

This workshop is a mix of hands on and theory, so wear your gardening gear and bring your gloves.

How To Get To Jo’s House - The thing is, Jo’s road is mislabelled on google maps.

The actual address is 30 Aratika Dr, Lake Brunner, Moana, Grey. All the signposts along the road use these names.

However not google maps! They use the century-old name of Dobson Rd. So you’ll need to google Dobson Road to find where Aratika Drive is. (It all adds to the adventure!)

Directions are - From Stillwater, turn east onto Arnold Valley Rd (travelling towards Moana). Go 16km’s, Turn right onto Aratika Drive (signposted). There are 8 or so letterboxes at the junction. Jo’s house is 300m up Aratika Dr on the right, halfway up a small hill. We will put out a balloon for you!

Cancellation Policy - Workshops are nonrefundable or transferable – feel free to send someone in your place. Minimum of 10 students required for each workshop to go ahead – you will be fully refunded should your workshop be cancelled.
