During August, Vibrant and colourful Otaki artist, Paula Archibald, will hold her first solo exhibition at Petone's Artspace Gallery.

Paula has been working with clay for 26 years and creates amazing and unique, one off artworks using a variety of clay and techniques finished off with incredible and happy glazes.

Her popular, brightly glazed ceramic marionettes, are made out of white clay and each limb is individually made. After finally firing and glazed, the limbs are linked together with stainless steel wire and are ready to hang and dance on the wall.

The exhibition will also feature one of Paula's outdoor water features set up inside the front gallery space. Also included will be a variety of ceramic hanging art, small totem poles, bowls, colourful jesters, garden art, figurines and her amazing hand built candle holders which can be used for both indoor or outdoor use plus much more to explore.

Paula loves to share what she has learnt and is naturally a wonderful tutor, she particularly enjoys teaching youth.
