Enter your team for a chance to win $300.
A classic tug-of-war competition.

- Mixed teams of up to 500kgs per team.

The winning team will receive $300 cash.

Teams need to report to the tug of war event area 15 minutes before the event
Heats 11am - 1pm, Final 1:30pm

Tug-of-war Rules:
- Team to consist of up to six members with a maximum of 500kgs combined weight.
- Knockout competition – winning team plays off against other winning teams.
- No hand over hand pulling allowed. Team members must go back with rope when pulling.
- Footwear is required (sneakers). No sprigs or spikes to be worn.
- Anchorman can loop rope around one shoulder to secure rope. No knots.
- All team members will be lying on the Tug of War board. NO standing up, both feet are to remain on the board.
- Teams through coach/team captain will be reminded of the rules prior to commencement of competition.
- Only coach/team captain can consult with the judge.
- A team member is permitted to pull for only one team during a competition.
- Judge to toss coin to determine direction of pull.
- Prior to commencement of pull, judge will ask coach/team captain if they are ready, then give the command `take the strain` when teams are balanced, the order to `pull`, is given and the tug has commenced.
- Objective is to move the ribbon centred on the rope beyond the painted line on either side to determine the winning team.
- Team substitutions are allowed (for illness etc) as long as total weight isn’t exceeded.
- Competition judges decisions are final. No discussion will be entered into.
