Celebrate. Share. Laugh.

Come and join us in our Celebration of International Women's Day with laughter, celebration, songs, dances, speakers and community.

We will be having a shared Picnic, so bring a plate to share. Food can be dropped to Te Marae o Hine (in the Square) before the Parade at 12pm which will leave from the courtyard at Te Manawa Museum to join us in Te Marae o Hine.

We are excited to announce there will be a mass dance for all women attending. We will be dancing in unity with Women worldwide in conjunction with One Billion Rising .org.

Moves for this will be taught at 1-hour rehearsals led by Jennifer Moss on:
Sunday 26th Feb at 1 - 2pm at Te Manawa, Wednesday 1st March at 11:30 - 12:30pm at PN Main Library and Sunday 5th March 1-2pm at PNth Main Library. We hope you can join us. It's fun!

We invite you all to join us in this powerful moment together. We invite contributions for a collaborative Big Book, where women can leave a record of their experiences, thoughts, recipes, wishes. Paper will be provided, or things can be prepared in advance and brought along to add to it. This will be a record/snapshot of women in the region and may be displayed within the community after Women's day.

There will be Giant Puppet representations of varied ethnicities who make up our city, along with women of all ages and abilities.

We hope you can join us.

This is an Initiative of the Rangiwahia Environmental Arts Centre. It could not happen without the fabulous support of our community.
