The Auckland Women's Centre warmly invites you to join us for the opening night of 'Wonder Woman'.
Wonder Woman turns 75 this year, and she has evolved a lot in that time: as a character, as a symbol, and as a queer feminist icon.
Directed by Patty Jenkins, the film is an origin story. Before she was Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered, all women, island paradise, Diana hears about the massive conflict that's raging in the outside world. Convinced that she can stop the threat, Diana leaves her home for the first time. Discovering her full powers and true destiny as Wonder Woman.
$5 Raffles available on the night and spot prizes for everyone who dresses up, donated by the wonderful Jo Montague from Harcourts.
This is a special film event with all donations going to save our Women's Support service! Due to a Government cut off our contract we've had for 14 years, we need your support and donations to keep providing this vital service for the women who need it most. So grab your friends and join us for a fabulous night out.
