Square Eyes Sparks Selection & Roxy 5 ‘Kiwi as’ - International/New Zealand
Age: 7 - 14 years

The characters in these award-winning and audience-pleasing live action international short films are determined and daring, undertaking fantastic journeys, both small and grand. Feel the sparks of aspiration and inspiration as you see the world through their eyes. This is followed by the awesome cinematic results of our three winning groups of young filmmakers from the Roxy 5 Short Film Competition 2016: Step by Step, Kahurangi School; A Fishy Tale, Wellington High School; Black Dog, Kapiti College.

What does ‘Kiwi As’ mean to you?
In 2016, school groups around the Wellington region were given the challenge of producing a short film containing three key elements - a koru; a chocolate fish and the dialogue “yeah, nah, yeah”. The three winning schools won the opportunity to completely remake their films under the guidance of professional industry mentors, Capital E Digital and Park Road Post Production. The annual Roxy5 Short Film competition is a collaboration between Capital E and the Miramar Events Trust. Get your school involved!

“Amazing! Lots of fun and the students were super excited.” - Roxy5 Participant 2016
