Want to publish a story, some drawings, a comic, a collage, your thoughts...anything at all? Zines are the way to do it!

Come find out what zines are and check out some cool and varied zines, then get stuck in to create your own.

We’ll supply lots of drawing, cutting and glueing materials to create a small 8-page zine out of a single A4 page (aka a 'Foldy Zine'). You can come up with something as you go, work together with others, or bring along a story you've already written - you can do anything with zines!

All ages welcome but parental supervision required under the age of 8.

We can also assist you with making copies and making a legal deposit - entering a copy into the New Zealand Library Archives and getting your zine onto library shelves!

This event is part of Beyond the Page, a literary festival for children and youth on from 8-23 July, find out more at!
