Knock off Banks Peninsula’s highest peaks on a terrific loop route. Head up to Packhorse Hut and skirt Mt Bradley’s southern flank. Continue up a gap in Bradley’s fearsome ramparts to the top then along Te Ara Pātaka to the highest point on Banks Peninsula – the summit of Mt Herbert/Te Ahu Pātiki at 919m. Return via Monument South Track passing through impressive areas of regenerating bush in public reserves and under private covenant. Walk the full 20kms, or cheat the last 5kms with a lift down Kaituna Valley! (Postponed to Sunday 11th November if weather severe)

Duration: 9-10 hours. Walk climbs 900m
