“…rich plum pudding of a performance.” – Laurie Atkinson, Dom Post

Ray is delighted to return with his acclaimed production of A Christmas Carol following his highly successful season in 2013. Dickens himself was one of the first writers to read his own work in public performance.

A Christmas Carol was subtitled A Ghost Story for Christmas on its first edition and it has become one of the best known and loved Christmas stories. In it we meet characters that have entered our language: Scrooge, Tiny Tim, the Ghosts of Christmas past, present and future.

So, with the help of some modern technology like soundscapes, lighting and projection, Ray offers a night to celebrate all the true traditions of the Christmas season that we have adopted into our lives and that were first written about in such a captivating way by one of the masters of English letters, Charles Dickens.

“I invite you all to treat yourselves to the true meaning of the Christmas spirit with the wonderful words of the immortal Charles Dickens.” – Ray Henwood
