Archaeology for the young and curious.

Based on his book of the same name, David Veart's talk includes his lifetime interest in archaeology. Starting (illegally) aged nine with his mother's garden trowel in a shoreline midden in Onehunga, he later spent 25 years with the Department of Conservation, ending as the Auckland Area Heritage Manager.
The main theme of the talk will be the archaeology of Auckland – from moa ovens to the hidden aircraft at North Head.

Archaeology is the study of humanity from the things we have left behind, and a great adventure for curious minds.

This talk is aimed for children but all ages welcome.
