International troubadour and Tasman resident Andrew White, releases his sixteenth album over two weekends at the historic Moutere Inn.

His new album, ‘Beautiful Trouble’, is a collection of songs that reflect the often-difficult path encountered as a touring musician. Joy, sorrow, self-doubt and redemption are melded together in a collage of watercolour shapes and sounds that engage the listener and take you by the hand down the corridors and cobblestone paths of his musical journey.

A self-confessed disciple of the Muse, Andrew’s passion for finger-style guitar and song writing has taken him to all parts of the globe to tour and perform with many of the world’s finest musicians.

Tommy Emmanuel describes Andrew as being ‘a very gifted and magical writer ‘, Stephen Pederson, of the Chronicle Herald, Canada says, “It is no stretch at all to describe Andrew White as the Art Tatum of the guitar.”

For his sixteenth release, White has teamed up with US top ten craft brewery NinkasI and the Birkenhead Brewing company of Auckland, who have brewed an IPA inspired by the title track of the album.

“I’m a great lover of craft beer,” says White, “so I was thrilled when Steve Simms of the Birkenhead Brewing Company took my idea of a craft beer named Beautiful Trouble to Ninkassi and they ran with it. In these days of a changing market place in the music industry, as a hard-working troubadour, it pays to think outside of the box to get the music out there to the world.

A QR code on every bottle of Beautiful Trouble will take you to my website where you can download the single for free and buy the album. Beer and music go together, so I think this is a great partnership and I’m seriously looking forward to seeing where this approach takes the music.”

The Moutere Inn will be getting in a few kegs of Beautiful Trouble for the occasion, so you can listen to Beautiful Trouble and taste it at the same time!

Opening the show on Sat 21st April will be Nelson guitarist and song writer Simon Lusby:
