Following the sensationally successful tour of NZ which Ben Waters & Friends made in March 2017, together with Rolling Stones sidemen Tim Ries & Bernard Fowler, plus Mick Jagger’s prodigiously talented brother Chris, Ben returns to his favourite place down under – to Akaroa, for one concert only!

This time, Ben’s prodigy son Tom (who is not allowed time out of the Purcell Music School for extended tours like this), will be replaced on sax by none other than the legendary Derek Nash – in Ben’s opinion probably the finest sax player in Britain. Derek has his own group Sax Appeal, and has performed regularly with all the great ones, like Eric Clapton & Jools Holland.

The line up also includes the fantastically talented locals, Mike Story on double bass – Ben’s favourite bass player, and the remarkable Henare (H) Kaa on drums.

Ben has recently been declared ‘Best Boogie Pianist in Europe’, and with his eclectic range of music spanning Rock 'n Roll of the Chuck Berry & Jerry Lee Lewis genre (he has played with both of them) to Rhythm and Blues, the audience are assured an energetic evening of nonstop rock ’n rolling.

Ben comes to NZ after a busy schedule in Australia, where he will perform at prestigious venues including the Sydney Opera House and Byron Bay.

The last tour’s concerts were sell outs, and this one gig in Akaroa promises to be the same. Once again these concerts support the fundraising efforts of the Akaroa Health Hub, with 50% of each ticket going towards the replacement of the hospital lost in the Canterbury earthquakes.

Tables of 6, 8 & 10 can be arranged for an additional fee of $10 per person. Apply by email to
