Come and join us for lunch to celebrate International Women's Day. Guest speaker is Gina Rangi, RLC's new Group Manager Maori, an inspiring local leader.

For the past 15 years Gina has been a Trustee for Tuaropaki Trust, a Maori land trust with over $1.3 billion in assets. The trust was created in the 1950s by 45 Maori families, bringing their land together and establishing a drystock and dairy farm.

In the late 1990s the Trustees established a geothermal power station on their land, and now have a range of food and electricity sector investments including milk processing company (Miraka Ltd), electricity services company (MB Century), and hothouse tomatoes and capsicums (Gourmet Mokai).

After beginning her legal career at Russell McVeagh, Gina went onto become a well-respected Treaty of Waitangi settlement negotiator. Gina has held government appointments including for Te Mangai Paho (the Maori language broadcasting agency) and as a commissioner on a Board of Inquiry for an electricity project of national significance.

In 2017 she was chosen to attend the Obama Summit in Chicago, USA. The summit included inspirational talks from former President Barack Obama, Michelle Obama and Prince Harry.

Gina has three children (aged 12, 10 and 2) and is passionate about environmental issues and her community. She defines “Leadership” as all about Service.”

We will be entertained by the talented Ellis Carrington, a local Rotorua singer currently studying music and singing at Victoria University.

You can get tickets from Jenny at Zonta (07 347 0116 or, Jill at Quota (027 497 8172), or Berice at Siroptomist (07 323 9190).

Please be there by 11:45am for a noon start.
