All Ages

Toru Trio consists of three principal players from Orchestra Wellington. The sound combination of flute, viola and harp was popularised by Debussy. It has been often enjoyed since. Karen Batten (flute) plays with groups Ethos, Elios and Nikau; Sophia Acheson (viola) has furthered studies in Spain and the USA, developing an interest in early music; Ingrid Bauer (harp) has given solo recitals in six countries but loves making music in small ensembles.

- Debussy Sonate pour flûte, alto e harpe (1915)
- Bax Fantasy Sonata (1927) (viola/harp)
- Tabea Squire New Work
- Wendelin Bitzan Zoological Garden (2011) (flute/viola)
- William Mathias Zodiac Trio (1976)

Presented in association with Chamber Music New Zealand.

Memberships and season Flexi-tickets available at our website. School children accompanying a paying adult do not require an admission ticket. All concerts are "general admission" so please arrive in time to get a good seat - doors open around 20 minutes before.
