Legendary virtuoso Shlomo Mintz returns to Dunedin as soloist in Tchaikovsky’s monumental Violin Concerto. Esteemed for his impeccable musicianship, stylistic versatility and commanding technique, he regularly appears with the most celebrated orchestras and conductors on the international stage.

Spanish conductor José Luis Gomez started his musical career as a violinist in Venezuela’s renowned El Sistema project. In September 2010, he was catapulted to international attention when he won First Prize at the International Sir Georg Solti Conductor’s Competition.

His electrifying energy, talent and creativity led to immediate appointments with international orchestras. On his first visit to Dunedin, he will conduct Dvorak’s Symphony No. 7, a symphony regarded as one of Dvorak’s finest.
