The Down and Dirty/Rooftop Party is a party with a twist. You can choose to earn a ticket by digging in alongside our EcoMatters staff at one of the working bees during the day or you can pay $30 for entry.

Become a Hallertau Host and be in to win a $100 voucher.

Potting up plants, mulching and partying are all more fun with your mates. Sign up to be a Hallertau Host when you register & bring the biggest crew to our rooftop party to win a $100 Hallertau Brewery voucher. To be in the running, get your friends to enter your name as their Hallertau Host when they RSVP as volunteers or buy tickets. The winner will be announced at the rooftop party.

Rain date for this event will be Sunday 18th of March.

Potting plants in New Lynn:
Join Sarah & Chrissy with potting up eco-sourced native plants and organic vegetable seedlings as well as weeding and mulching of the EcoMatters Community Garden and the surrounding native plant area. This working bee takes place from 1-3pm.

Mulching in Glen Eden:
Our native plants need you! Help Gabriela and Alanah with spreading mulch around young plants to provide them with much needed moisture and nutrients while keeping the weeds at bay. This working bee takes place from 1-3pm.

Preparing planting sites in Te Atatū:
Te Atatū South Kindergarten is working hard to restore the the waterway in Divich Reserve and replant the area with native trees. Come on down and support Phil & Simon to get this special site ready for planting. This working bee takes place from 10am-12pm.

Rooftop Party:
We've partnered with some awesome local businesses to put on a great party after the work is done. On arrival you'll enjoy a cold beer or cider from Hallertau Brewery, or a Karma Cola. We'll fire up the BBQ for a hearty feed including Tonzu vegetarian sausages, artisan bread from Crafty Baker, fresh salads from FreshChoice Glen Eden, and exciting new dairy-free treats from Zenzo. There will be a cash bar operating throughout the afternoon.
