Kiwi Films for Positive Change - Saturday Film and Nibble Nights

Premiering an excellent line-up of Kiwi documentary films that deliver powerful and inspirational messages of positive change and look at how communities are coming together to build a sustainable future for many generations to come. Films will be followed by delicious refreshments from TheVeggieTree Cook School.

Our third - and last film screening in this series of 3 - is for another very recent Kiwi-made documentary "Edible Paradise - Growing the Food Forest Revolution"

Watch the Trailer:

A quiet revolution is growing in communities across Aotearoa-New Zealand, seeding long-term, multi-generational solutions for our food.
Edible Paradise was captured over five years as part of the Localising Food Project. Edible Paradise travels to the four corners of Aotearoa - New Zealand, to meet local food campaigners instrumental in creating community orchard and food forest projects in their patch.

At the pinnacle of this movement is a diverse edible environment known as a Food Forest - a collection of perennial plants grown in a multilayered natural forest ecosystem that is beneficial to humans, animals, plants and insects. This idea moves away from the monoculture crops that have become the norm in our post-WW2 agrochemical-based horticulture systems.

About Transition Towns...
TransitionTowns initiatives are part of a vibrant, international grassroots movement ( that brings people together to explore how we – as communities - can respond to the environmental, economic and social challenges arising from climate change, resource depletion and an economy based on growth. We don’t look for anyone to blame or anyone to save us, but believe our communities have within themselves the innovation and ingenuity to create positive solutions to the converging crises of our time.We believe in igniting and supporting local responses at any level and from anyone – and aim to weave them together into a coordinated action plan for change towards a lower energy lifestyle. By building local resilience, we will be able to collectively respond to whatever the future may bring in a calm, positive and creative way. And by remembering how to live within our local means, we can rediscover the spirit of community and a feeling of power, belonging and sharing in a world that is vibrant, just and truly sustainable.
