Esplanade Day is back in 2018 in Palmerston North's most beautiful gardens.

Victoria Esplanade will once again come alive with a fantastic mix of live entertainment, activities, stalls food, culture, and family fun!

We have some special performers on stage and roaming through the gardens, the head line act on the Victoria House stage is the Phil Edwards Band, who after a time apart to do OE's have joined up again.

Their live set brings together elements of blues, funk, reggae and country, all with an honest soulful vibe that's easy to move to and hard to forget.

Established in 2010, the band spent four years travelling across Australasia, performing at festivals such as Rhythm and Vines, Melbourne Moomba Water Festival, Blues Brews and Barbecues and the Whangamata Summer Festival. A band not to be missed.

There will also be a couple of popular local groups performing; Jondal a duo who will perform versions of your favourite soul, pop, rock and lounge tunes and The Regulars who are a high-energy three piece band with great arrangements of rock, pop, funk and ska classics and some songs from the 50's through to popular tunes of today.

The New Zealand Army is back again, so if you have a budding soldier in your family, you'll love all the trucks and tanks and camouflage paint to play with!

Colossal Circus act are bringing a new roaming show called Mr and Ms Grey- Used to be the Big Little Circus and are returning by popular demand.

In addition this year, Esplanade Day in partnership with James Tait Jamieson will bring the Rose Garden Band Rotunda alive again with the sound of two brilliant brass ensembles. A quintet from Palmerston North Brass will kick things off with a lush programme of tradional brass and band music. They'll be followed by the Fourth Quarter Brass Bandits from Wellington, who will get you up off your picnic blanket with a sassy, New Orleans sound.

It is a great opportunity to learn and get involved with some of our local organisations and support our local talent while enjoying a relaxing day in the park!

Bring your own picnic or choose from a variety of food stalls and trucks. Lots of entertainment for the kids - free bouncy castles and activities, slides, amusements, face painting, balloons and much more!

So make sure you and your family get down to Esplanade Day and make the most of this exciting event.

A full programme with times and stages will be posted on Lancewood Event's website and Eventfinda.
