The Japan Foundation engages in international cultural exchange activities in cooperation with over 130 countries around the world, and conducts the Traveling Exhibitions Programme by collaborating with overseas museums to introduce Japanese arts and culture overseas, including a wide range of areas from modern architecture to traditional ceramics.

The coming exhibition will be about Japanese handcrafted form. "Handcrafted Form: Traditions and Techniques" features both utilitarian objects and creative works of art.

It introduces a total of 90 works which highlight the richness of Japanese handcrafted objects that have developed within the context of daily life, including ceramics, textiles, metalwork, lacquerware, woodcraft and paper making. You will see in the exhibition that the artisans and craftspeople from different regions across Japan have used traditional skills and techniques to produce highly creative pieces.
