kirtanyogachristchurch.com is very happy to present you this Kirtan event in the space just above the Iconic organic food store Piko Wholefoods.

This is the first Kirtan of this year for us and we are looking forward to start this fresh year with some positive and uplifting kirtans!!!

KirtanWave is a group of musicians headed by Kirtan singer Ananda Mohini. They have led kirtans at 'Flow Hot Yoga' and 'The Yoga Place' and organised the events 'Kirtan on the Beach' and 'Kirtan in the Park' in the last few years.

Come along and enter the world of sacred sound: Sound that touches your soul! If you have never done Kirtan before read below for a longer description, but there will be a short introduction to the practice at the beginning of each event.

The event is based on koha/donations. Please also bring a cushion to make yourself extra comfortable.

Mark this event already in your calendar and invite your friends on Facebook and beyond.
We are looking forward to sharing this night with you!

What is Kirtan?
Kirtan is a very different kind of music! Based on ancient chants, it has the ability to calm the mind if listened to with intention.

Kirtan experiences range from uplifting, refreshing, enlivening to calming, grounding and relaxing. A Kirtan event is not your typical concert either. You can think of it as a sing-along in which the Kirtan singer and the audience alternate in singing the mantras.

The Kirtan leader sings the mantra and the audience sings it back. A single chant can go on for 30 minutes to many hours. As you sing with each other you experience a deep connection with yourself and everyone else.

Some Kirtans are very meditational others do 'rock', and it is not uncommon that people get up and dance. But there is lots to the Kirtan Experience you cannot put into words, so just come along and find out yourself!
