Sonata for violin & piano No.8 in G Major, Op.30 No.3

The Variations for cello and piano from the early years in Beethoven’s compositional period sees the cello instrumentation in a new intimate setting as equal soloist partner to the piano.

Although the Op.30 Sonata in G Major for violin and piano is developed from the traumatic period of the Heiligenstadt Testament, it is surprisingly full of lightness and humour. These three works present a glimpse of Beethoven’s establishment in Vienna as a true successor to Haydn and Mozart.

Ensemble East is a chamber music project founded by a group of musicians passionate about sharing music with one another and the communities in which they live in. It is comprised of a core group of players and frequently invites guest artists to its concert programmes.

The ensemble performs a diverse range of music ranging from duos to large chamber groups. Aside from performing, Yid-Ee Goh (violin), Lisa Chung (cello) and Lisa Chou (piano) are passionate music educators, teaching in schools as well as at their private studios.
